ژورنالیست ها و دیگر اصحاب رسانه به شمول وبلاگ نویسان و فعالان منفرد دراین حوزه، نقش ویژه ای به عنوان مدافعان حقوق بشر دارند. شغل آنها در جهت شفافیت مسایل است.
آنها اطلاعات و عقایدی را منتشر می کنند که گاهی از طرف مقامات دولتی به عنوان "حساس"، طبقه بندی می شود، از جمله گزارش هایشان در رابطه با موارد نقض حقوق بشر، جنایات سازمان یافته، فسادهای مالی، قاچاق انسان، عملکرد بدحکومت ، موارد تخریب محیط زیست و بلایای طبیعی، بحران های اقتصادی، وضعیت های اضطراری ، اعتراضات و تظاهرات های مردمی و... .
ژورنالیست ها اغلب به دلیل انجام شغلشان، بازداشت می شوند، مورد شکنجه، تهدید، اذیت و آزار، جستجو و مصادره اموال، تجاوز جنسی (بخصوص علیه ژورنالیست های زن) واقع شده و حتی کشته می شوند.

A woman is still a free and innocent creature

من را با باورهایت تعریف نکن ! بهتر بگویم تحقیر نکن!
من میخواهم آنطور که خود می پسندم لباس می پوشم –قرمز، زرد، نارنجی ،
برای خودم آرایش کنم- گاهی غلیظ، برقصم- گاه آرام ، گاه تند،
بخندم بلند بلند بی اعتنا به اینکه بگویند جلف است یا هر چیز دیگر...
برای خودم آواز بخوانم حتی اگر صدایم بد باشد و فاژ بخوانم، آهنگ بزنم...
و شاد ترین آهنگ ها را گوش دهم، مسافرت بروم حتی تنهای تنها ....

حتی اگر تمام این ها با آنچه تو از مفهوم یک زن خوب در ذهن داری مغایر باشد.
زن یک موجود مقدس است و آزاد.

Do not define me with your own beliefs! Or it might be better to say “Do not degrade me with your beliefs.” I want to wear the way I please..red..yellow..orange.. And I want to wear my make-up the way I like..Sometimes thick sometimes thin.. And I like to dance freely.. sometimes slow..sometimes fast.. And I want to laugh out loud without hearing others call me jaunty or whatever. I want to sing for myself.. even if my voice is bad and even if I sing all false. And I want to play the musical instruments and I want to listen to the happiest of the songs..And I want to travel.. even all by myself.
Even if all of these oppose your beliefs about a “good woman”, nothing changes. A woman is still a free and innocent creature.

She was invited to Germany to write a blog for World Cup from DW, but she can not go there.
She was invited to Germany to make a blog of Berlin Film Festival 2009 from DW.
But she is now in prison and banned from Iran and Tehran.
